Miramont Family Medicine will build a new clinic in Wellington (Colorado) at 7950 Sixth St., a lot between PointsWest Community Bank and Taco Johns.
Dr. John Bender, co-owner of the medical practice, hopes to have the one-story, 5,105-square-foot facility open by Aug. 1.
Bender presented his plan to the Wellington Planning Commission on Jan. 4. The group gave unanimous support to the clinic’s site plan, which sets the stage for Miramont to get a building permit.
The medical clinic has rented space at 8017 First St. for the past year, after taking over the patient records of Wellington Medical Center, which closed its facility on Jan. 30, 2009. The new facility will be located in the Coal Creek Center, a commercial subdivision with an approved master plan. It will have X-ray and mammogram services and a drive-up dispensary for use by its patients.
The former Wellington Medical Center, owned by Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, continues to sit vacant on Sixth Street. The 6,860-sqaure-foot building is listed for sale at $1.2 million.
Miramont’s main clinic is located in south Fort Collins. It also purchased the clinic in Red Feather Lakes this year.
