Community club is Friend of 4-H

January 06, 2010

The Buckeye Community Club hosted its annual Christmas party and dinner at the historic Buckeye Schoolhouse on Dec. 12.

Also invited were the Buckeye Buck ’n Ears 4-H Club and members’ families.

Festivities included the 4-H club’s annual Friends of 4-H award presentation to the community club. The Buckeye Community Club sponsors the 4-H group by allowing it to use the schoolhouse for its monthly meetings without charge.

The community club and 4-H group are trying to raise funds for the construction of a wheelchair ramp at the schoolhouse. A matching funds grant application has been filed with Larimer County in hopes of providing people interested in visiting the historic building with easier access. Currently, people must navigate seven stairs to enter the building.

Funds are also needed for electrical and plumbing upgrades.
